Brickfair 2012 PennLUG Train Layout

Post  Cale on Mon Jul 23, 2012 11:01 pm

Wow! Brickfair is almost here and I'm just now getting to coming up with a plan. So here it is.

This layout is 30ft x 36ft, down a bit from last year's 30ft x 40ft.

Since we didn't get to try out a large radius curve at Brickworld I'm hoping we can do it here. O course his creates a big space that we need to fill with something. Brian has talked about doing a campground, Rob is working on a mini wind farm and we probably have a few suburban buildings we could fill this space with.

Looks good. I am sure we can fill in something as needed.

Looks good. If we can recess a section of track one or two baseplates from the outer edge of the table, I was thinking of throwing together a simple beach (tan plates on top of blue baseplates) to add some variety.

If anyone wants to bring Cafe Corner buildings, I'm sure we could use them to help fill in extra space in the downtown.

I will bring the Grand Emporium (corner & center section) if someone can bring one more corner, we can put in the background as filler.

Brian

I have the Cafe Corner, Green Grocer, Market Street, and also a Grand Emporium to go with Brian's two modules.

I finished my city dump/junk yard. It is 3 32x32 baseplates wide, by 2 32x32 baseplates deep. The road access to it is from the front of the right front baseplate, just like Brick Park. IF we have room on our layout for it, great. If not, I will just put it into the general town layout, or the fire theme area.

Does anyone have a ladder firetruck that they would be able to bring, that they would be OK with me temporarily modifying, by adding flames to it? I want it for a MOC idea, but I don't think I will have time to build one from scratch.

I have made some improvements to Brick Park, I think you will all like them.

See you Thursday. snail
