If only it were real.

A Lego Apple Store has been on my to-do list for awhile, even though a few other people have built ones already.

Why do people even waste their time posting MOCs to CUUSSOO that require licensing? There's no chance in hell Apple would let Lego make an Apple Store set. Apple is notorious for threatening anyone who even tries to sell a Steve Jobs toy. I'm also pretty skeptical they would ever make that Shawn of the Dead set either.

Understand what you mean. As CUUSOO currently stands, the question should probably be "Why the hell don't people bother to support non-licensed ideas?" Laughing While there are exceptions (like the Wild West town), most projects that have 1,000 plus supporters are things that would require licensing or are presented in a gradiose fashion (People love superlatives). Some of these licenses are already in use by other building toy companies, to. People look for what they know, it seems. Neutral At least CUUSOO didn't come out at the height of Halo's popularity. It would be like MOCpages all over again.

"Why do people even waste their time posting MOCs to CUUSSOO that require licensing?" Because the world is full of dreamers.

The Apple store project is neat but you're probably right on the chances of LEGO actually getting the license for that one. The Shaun of the Dead project however is a different story. With star and writer Simon Pegg endorsing it, and I believe the director Edgar Wright as well, getting the license may not be all that hard. But there are a other issues working against it that probably make it at best a 50 50 chance right now.

It's all about marketing. Those projects tied to licenses all benefit from the huge marketing that's already out there for those properties.. People see something like the Back to the Future Delorean and they instantly know it and can identify with it. But something like Masao Hidaka's Monorail (a much cooler project in my opinion) just don't grab people's attention like the big name licenses do. If the a project like the monorail is going to succeed it needs to get publicity.
