PennLUG December 10th 2011 Meeting

PennLUG December 10th 2011 Meeting

Post  Cale on Mon Nov 28, 2011 10:08 pm

The December meeting will be hosted by KC on Saturday December 10th. Directions and more details will be coming soon.

Dirty Brickster

As per usual we will be doing a Dirty Brickster gift exchange again. Don't know what Dirty Brickster is you say?

Dirty Brickster is better known (in the USA) as "White Elephant Gift Exchange," "Yankee Swap," or "Dirty Santa." Players each contribute one gift to the game, and ultimately each player walks away with one different gift of similar value.
All gifts should be roughly $20 in value (you can go over if you want to but $20 keeps every one on the same playing field). Use your imagination to make it fun. Out-of-production sets or some classic parts from your own collection are far more interesting that something off the Toys R Us shelf yesterday.

1. Players bring their gifts wrapped or sealed in a gift bag, careful to conceal the contents.

2. Players gather in a circle and gifts are placed in the center.

3. Names are drawn to see who picks first.

4. The picked player chooses a gift from the pile and opens it, holds it up for all to see, and keeps it (for the time being).

5. Another name is drawn.

6. The next player can either choose to take an unopened gift from the pile or to steal a gift from any previous gift-holder.

7. If someone's gift is stolen, that person can immediately unwrap a new gift or steal another gift.

8. Any gift stolen 3 times becomes "dead." It now belongs to that owner and may not be stolen again.

So find a gift and bring it along. It's a lot of fun and you'll walk away with some cool LEGO.

PennLUG Christmas in the Castle Challenge

We've done a few theme challenges at some of our past meetings and had fun doing it. Now for our upcoming December 2011 meeting we will be doing what we hope will be our best one yet.

Yes even the Knights and Peasants and the Fire Breathing Snails celebrated the Holidays. And for our December meet we're challenging every one to build a Castle MOC in the Christmas theme. It can be any size any faction, we'll let the Ninjas and the Vikings play too, and we'll even let you pick the Winter Holliday of your choice. So this is your wake up call. Let's see some great MOCs.

This is an announcement post only. Discussion on the meeting can be directed here.
