Cool New LEGO Storage

I stumbled across this on Eurobricks.

New LEGO Storage Theme

Plast Team LEGO Storage web site

I'm not sure when or if these will be available in the US but they look pretty cool. They're probably not going to be cost effective for storing our LEGO collections but I would still like to have a few around the house.

I think these are the big bricks that KC and I were looking at getting. Big blue bricks, gotta have them... Again though, it's a cost thing especially for the shipping from Europe.

They're obviously inadequate for anyone with (a) a vast number of bricks or (b) a complex sorting scheme. But for parents trying to get their kids to sweep their bricks off the floor, they're an adequate solution. They're preferable to repurposed paperboard shoe boxes (no flaps for elements to hide beneath, won't get musty), but less visible than the plastic stackable lid-locked "shoe boxes" by Sterilite etc. OTOH, opacity may be a selling point for people who prefer their houses to resemble Architectural Digest.

The Plast Team website gives dimensions. Storage Brick 1 is 125x125x180 mm (5x5x7 inches), up to Storage Brick 8 at 250x500x180 mm (<10x<20x7 inches). Storage Brick 1 is the only product shown with bricks inside.

Note that they've got 12 colors for each size (three pink-violet options, but no orange) for maximum coordination with your décor (or the bricks inside).

No prices are shown.
