Righteousness

Post  D_Runyon on Wed Sep 01, 2010 8:48 am

Righteousness by super_dave42, on Flickr

A small Corellian Engineering Corporation vessel, the Righteousness obviously derives many design characteristics from the larger YT series freighters. Its pilot, the bounty hunter Eechi Rowien, relies on the Righteousness' massive Koensayr shield generator for defense; the shield's power is tied directly to the main power plant, giving it priority over most other ship systems in a crisis. Computer-targeted, fire-linked dorsal and ventral blaster turrets give the ship some defensive firepower. The reinforced retractable landing gear permits hasty landings for difficult extractions.

Landing gear retracts! Turrets rotate/elevate! 48 x 40 studs! I'm out of 3x6 bley wing plates and the whole port side is under so much strain from the compression of the plates making up the quarter-circle that it tends to go "poing" when certain elements are removed. I don't think I'll keep this together past KidsFest as I don't want to warp my parts.

Very Nice. This will make a fine addition to our space layout (when I get around to starting it...).

@Joel: Thanks!
@Dudley: Thanks! Keep on voting! ;-)
@Mac: I'm not sure how long I can keep this thing together, as the parts are under quite a bit of stress and I don't want to destroy the pieces. I plan to bring it to KidsFest Hartford, but I'm planning to disassemble it afterward. Of course, if there's a better building solution for the curved section (port side aft), I'm all ears....

Sounds like a job for Chris or Peter. Those two have a knack for that kind of building. I know I sure could use another "class" from Chris on his angled building techniques. I would like to see it in person before you send it to the great spaceship graveyard in the sky.

I'll definitely try to bring it to a meeting/event before I decompile it.
