Hi, David here. I signed up for the forum and joined the Facebook group over a year ago but beyond reading all your Facebook posts and making a few comments, I haven't been involved. I live in Center City Philadelphia and don't have a car so making to many meetings will be a challenge. I'm thinking about coming to this Saturday's meeting in Warminster and would like more details. I had lots of LEGO as a kid but unfortunately my brother took it all years ago. I got back into LEGO a couple years ago after my husband bought me Falling Water when we saw it in the MOMA gift shop in NYC. When I built my first modular, the Parisian Cafe, I was completely re-hooked! Since Christmas I've been breaking down all of my sets and sorting out the parts with the idea of doing more MOCs. I saw your display a number of the years ago at the Philadelphia Convention Center and came to Brickfest last spring but lost the nerve to actually talk with anyone. I I've attached a pic of my "LEGO room" which now has even more shelves added. Best, David

Welcome David.

If you do make it to the Warminster meeting I will not be there to meet you. My part time job is the assistant robotics coach at a private school in my neighborhood: Lancaster Country Day School. The two middle schools FIRST LEGO robotics teams will be at Penn State Berks for a state championship tournament.

There are other members who live in and near Philly. Once you get to know some of them it might be possible to get a ride to meetings. (A few dollars towards gas wouldn't hurt...) There is also a companion club - BroLUG. I do not know their schedule but you could ask about them at one of our meetings.

Congratulations on coming out of your "Dark Age". Welcome into the light.

Mike Tighe

Hi David,

Old City here. I don’t own a car at the moment either, though I can use my g/f’s when she works in the city. Nice looking workspace!
