Pennlug tables

Post  S-Tauser on Wed Aug 21, 2013 10:09 pm

Does anyone have the Specs of the two smaller layout tables.  Would it be possible to upload them to our instruction site?  I was thinking of building some for workspace if we get the new house.

I don't have specs or plans for our tables Sam. Other than they are sized to baseplate dimensions and are 30 inches tall. That's something we could probably work on as I've been asked by other clubs and individuals about our tables in the past. Any one out there up to drafting some plans?

If you are interested in some tables we may be building some in the coming months. The BroLUG guys have been looking into using custom built tables for their Cyberpunk city next year. Carter and Nate have asked if I would be willing to help them build them if they decide to go that route.

did you ever go through with putting together plans? I'd be interested. Should be simple enough to do on our own, but wouldn't hurt to know we did it the same way.

No plans as of yet. Is there some one in the club who want's to draw some up?

Our tables are pretty simple in design. We use 7/16 OSB for the table tops cut to conform to standard LEGO base plat sizes. The OSB is a little on the heavy side but inexpensive. You could substitute plywood if preferred. The sides and leg pockets are made from 1x3 pine which we screw and glue together. The legs are 2'' PVC pipe witch fit into 2" PVC couplers fastened to the tables. Out normal table hight is 30 inches.

How about your plexi thickness and supplier? I found this site, which seems pretty reasonable when ordering in quantity: http://www.eplastics.com/Plexiglass_Acrylic_Sheet_Clear
